EKLEGO WORKFORCE INSIGHTS

LEADERSHIP. CULTURE. TALENT.

Welcome to Eklego Workforce Insights, where we share actionable strategies and impactful stories that are transforming the Senior Care Workforce!

This month, we’re sharing perspectives and practical strategies to help you invest in your team and cultivate a culture that drives retention, performance, and growth.

CULTURE & RETENTION INSIGHTS:
WHAT THE DATA SHOWS

In today’s workforce landscape, culture plays a critical role in not only attracting talent, but keeping it. SHRM’s latest research reinforces this in a meaningful way: employees who rate their organization’s culture as positive are nearly four times more likely to stay with their employer. In contrast, just 15% of those in strong cultures are actively seeking new opportunities, compared to 57% in organizations with poor cultures.

The impact extends beyond retention alone. SHRM also found that 83% of employees in positive cultures feel motivated to produce high-quality work, compared to just 45% in less favorable environments.  Complementing this, research from Gallup shows that employees who feel strongly connected to their organization’s culture are 47% less likely to be actively looking for another job, further reinforcing the direct link between culture, engagement, and retention.

Together, these insights affirm that when organizations are intentional about their leaders and culture, they create environments where people choose to stay, contribute, and grow.

If you're ready to take the next step in investing in your workforce, we would be honored to partner with you. Let's start a conversation about how we can help you build and sustain a culture where your team—and your organization—can thrive.

A BETTER PLACE:
THE 4C’S

At Eklego we believe that culture isn’t just what we say—it’s the way people work every day. It’s reflected in how teams communicate openly, connect with purpose, commit to shared goals, and care for the mission and one another.

Jon Gordon's 4C's, Communicate, Connect, Commit, and Care, offer a practical framework for strengthening culture—and one that we’re proud to be certified to teach within our Eklego Leadership curriculum, helping organizations turn values into daily actions.

When these 4 elements come together, culture evolves from an abstract idea into a deliberate, lived experience—one that empowers teams, deepens engagement, and ultimately fosters a better environment for both employees and the people they serve.

When culture is intentionally and genuinely created and lived, people thrive.

Ready to get your organization to a better place? Let's start the conversation on how intentional culture strategies can strengthen your team and elevate your impact.

LEADER IN ACTION:
M&M

Shared by Mark Fish, President of Eklego Leadership

When I joined Eklego Workforce Solutions 2 ½ years ago, it was clear that our CEO, Joe Stirpe, desired to invest in our team, grow leaders, and build a thriving, connected culture. One way this vision has come to life is through what we now call M&M.

It started simply as a “Monday Minute” email. Each week, I shared a short personal story, often highlighting a challenge or failure I experienced, followed by a leadership principle and practical encouragement for the week ahead. Over time, that email evolved into M&M Live, a short, interactive Monday meeting designed to connect, align, and energize our team.

What makes M&M impactful is not just the content but also the consistency and intentionality behind it. It creates a shared moment each week where our team can pause, reflect, and refocus together.

By storytelling, shared leadership principles, and an environment where people can be open and authentic, M&M reinforces who we are and what we value as a team at Eklego. It creates space for growth, encourages connection, and strengthens our culture across the organization.

WORKFORCE ADVANTAGE
TOOLBOX:
EMPLOYEE VALUE PROPOSITIONS

Shared by Meg, President of Workforce Partnerships

DEFINING ORGANIZATIONAL CULTURE

Culture is the day-to-day experience of your team. It is the connective fiber that turns individuals into a unified, mission-driven force. It manifests in:

  • How we collaborate
  • How we respond to wins, challenges, and crises
  • How we show up for residents, families, and each other

THE POWER OF AN EVP

An authentic Employee Value Proposition (EVP) is magnetic—attracting the right talent to your organization and aligning your existing team around a shared purpose. When done well, it provides current team members with:

  • Clarity on expectations and purpose
  • Validation of their contributions
  • A shared language that defines what makes your organization unique

CULTURE BY DESIGN, NOT DEFAULT

Healthy culture does not happen by accident. It requires:

  • Relentless intentionality
  • Crystal clear expectations
  • Consistent reinforcement of positive behaviors

THE CHOICE

You can either design the culture you want or endure the culture that emerges in your absence.

Contact me today to implement an EVP strategy to help you:

  • Attract mission-aligned candidates
  • Affirm and retain current team members
